Genetic modifiers of tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes will be enriched Lead Investigator: Alan Renton Institution : Mount Sinai E-Mail : alan.renton@mssm.edu Proposal ID : 840 Proposal Description: My central hypothesis is that genetic modifiers of tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes will be enriched for genetic loci driving Alzheimer???s disease outcomes. Specific Aims 1) Identify genetic modifiers of tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes a) Identify genetic loci that modify tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes b) Determine the effects of APOE genotype and age on tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes 2) Investigate the functional genomics of neuronal plasma exosome tau modifiers in health and Alzheimer???s disease a) Undertake functional genomic fine mapping of genetic loci that modify tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes b) Undertake functional pathway analysis of genetic loci that modify tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes c) Evaluate enrichment between genetic loci that modify tau levels in neuronal plasma exosomes and genetic loci that influence Alzheimer???s disease outcomes
